WEEK 1- The Journey

TED Talk: Tim Brown- Tales of Creativity and Play

In this talk, Tim Brown gives different examples to show the strong relationship between play and creativity.

Exploration
The willingness to explore and experiment with no particular aim and the ability to unselfconsciously surrender to these experiences is the key to generating innovative ideas.

Building
Divergence mode is when we give in our seriousness into the business and covergence mode is when ideas come out naturally through any for of leisure. Set out guidelines and rules before 'playing' as code negotiations will lead to productive play.

Role-play
Relive your childhood. Build play and role play, try on that identity.

The Journey: River Safari Adventure

Why isn't the panda bored of only eating bamboo? Why doesn't it look for variety of food like us humans?

A photo of a flamboyance by the river. I really love the colour of their feathers, someday I hope it is possible to own a faux flamingo feathered pink dress.

The star of the river safari- manatee! It made me think of a funny pun as the manatee says "Oh the hue-manatee!"

I decided to pay a visit to the River Safari during the weekends and it was an eye opening trip to me. I remembered I was merely 5 years old when I last visited an actual zoo. The River Safari is a unique river themed wildlife park, with animals such as the manatee, pandas, flamingos, monkeys, congregating in and around the park waters. My personal favourite was the manatee, I realize the importance to see things and observe them in real life. It is truly a whole new level of first hand study experience that I am unable to experience through books and medias.

A Picture A Day

Day 1

I will always remember that the sun ray does not hurt unless it is brought it a focus.

Day 2
Don't forget to notice your surroundings, the greatest beauty might just be above your head.

Day 3

What is the message behind this outrageous sculpture?

Day 4

I explored into the neighbouring school, and I was deeply fascinated by the architectural design. (or should I mention the strong rivalry?)

Day 5

Singapore Art museum is definitely a must place to visit! I was so inspired my the artists's creativity in their works.

This week's class was to go out and about to places you've never been before and notice the slightest detail about it. It sounded easy at first, but I realize that I hardly ever traveled alone. The thought of a lonesome trip scared me but I endured it anyway. It turned out to be better than I thought and I did manage to notice the details throughout my journey. I noticed the crying toddler when he saw the crocodile in the aquarium. I noticed the loving couple holding hands and strolling through the park. These were the surrounding that took advantage of and couldn't be bothered to notice when I get too comfortable.
